Biographical / Historical

Anthony Wingfield (1506-1593) was a Gentleman Usher and Gentleman of the Black Rod. Married first to Margaret Blennerhasset, then ca. 1559 to Jane Purpett and then ca. 1562 to Elizabeth Leake.

Elizabeth Wingfield (b. ca. 1530) was a Gentlewoman of the Privy Chamber and Mother of the Maids. She was the daughter of Ralph and Elizabeth Leake and the half sister of Elziabeth Hardwick.
