These excerpts from Hakluyt cover a wide range of topics. Many letters concern the New World, including John Davis's search for the Northwest Passage and accounts of Spain's activities therein. Two letters from Elizabeth ask for protection for English merchants in Turkey and China. Several letters concern Russia, with Boris Godunov as correspondent or recipient.
