Discusses a lawsuit. He was tenant at Highlow during the minority of Thomas Eyre. Mr. Nicholas Bagshaw challenged the tithe in kind, which Alsop refused to pay. Bagshaw sued him at Lichfield. Discusses the suit, the negotiations, and Bagshaw's deception: without his knowledge, Bagshaw "had a writ of excomunicato capiendo against mee." He was forced to pay £6, 6 shillings, 8 pence.

His neighbor Nicholas Taylor has informed him that Ferrers is angry with Arskyng for some words allegedly spoken by him in the pulpit in disgrace of Ferrers's proceedings, words of which Butler, one of their "poor" has informed Ferrers. Denies ever saying anything ill about him or thinking ill of him. Thinks Ferrers has always dealt most kindly with their neighbors and the poor. Mentions...

From his "Lovinge cosen." Writes that his brother-in-law Nicholas Bradbourne has made a breach of pound within his franchise at Ball Hall, from which he took eleven sheep, the goods of George Hill. His bailiff seized them for him and impounded them. Asks him to cause them to be returned to his franchise. Address on verso of leaf.
